I’ll be posting a postmortem on how the Eat Local Challenge went, but for now here is a list of the local food items that I filled up on during October.

Wow, you were able to get a ton of local stuff in October. We are still enjoying a little bit of variety in the Midwest, it doesn’t get too “dry” around here until January really, then for a few months, food is pretty basic if you are trying to live locally.

I didn’t preserve as much this year as I would have liked to. I didn’t get a water bath canner until late in the season, and I live in an apartment, so our freezer is tiny, though stuffed to the brim with local eats.
